Mercan Kimya, which has been serving in the chemical industry for 37 years, signed an agreement with Sasol, a global leader, for the production of Hydrowax 88 agent and their derivatives used in glass fiber and stone wool. Mercan Kimya will meet the raw material needs of Turkey, which is dependent on foreign countries for its Hydrowax 88 and its derivatives, under the Sasol brand.

Mercan Kimya will begin production in a short period of time and produce 3,000 tons of Hydrowax 88 and its derivatives. Informing people of the agreement and production Gültekin Okay Salgar, the Chairman of Mercan Kimya, stated, ""We will produce this agent in our own country. In terms of exports, that will provide value to Turkey and avoid imports. Turkey spends EUR 7 million each year for this agent, but from now on, we will produce it and eliminate our dependence on foreign products.

We are happy to produce in Turkey and, more importantly, in Denizli. We produced this product for the first time in Turkey. We initiate this process with our technical team and our German partners.""

Salgar said that producing glass fiber chemicals and rock wool chemicals would prevent a significant amount of imports in Turkey and added, ""We will export these materials both domestically and overseas. We will achieve this with the world leader Sasol. Mercan Kimya produces paraffin, liquid paraffin and vaseline and sells its products to 35 countries on the domestic market. Exports will reduce foreign currency outflows in Turkey and add foreign currency to the economy through the production of Hydrowax 88 and its derivatives.""

3,000 TONS WILL BE PRODUCED ANNUALLY Stating that they will initially produce 500 tons, Salgar concluded as follows: ""We will increase this volume to 3,000 tons at regular intervals. This is how much the Turkish market is anyway. We will export to the Middle East and the Turkic Republics in the coming months. 7m euros worth of goods are imported from this agent. We will not only prevent this, but also contribute to exports.

Sasol Company Official Thomas Haas stated that they would be manufacturing with Mercan Kimya in Turkey and added, ""As a result of the research conducted by Sasol in Turkey, we have decided that we will be able to produce Hydrowax 88 and derivative materials with Mercan Kimya. We will now produce Hydrowax 88 and its derivatives in Turkey.""
