R&D Hub

Mercan Kimya R&D Hub officially become R&D Hub in 2018 and is supported by the Turkish Ministry of Industry & Technology.

We exploit R & D so that we can understand the needs of our customers, make production more efficient (performance and cost-wise), create products that have high added value, and come up with user- and ec0-friendly solutions to various problems.

Since 2008, all our R&D projects have been being supported by national as well as our own capital sources:

Two of our projects have been approved by TUBITAK,
Two of our projects have been approved by the KOSGEB,
Sixteen of our projects have been completed – 12 of which with our own capital.

We’re (still) actively working on 3 projects.

Our expert team of engineers, chemists, and technicians are busy working away on developing:
Nano and micro emulsions for the forestry, textile, isolation, and construction industries
Paraffine-based 3D Printing Cartridges (3D Design)
Paraffine-based phase changing materials
Polymers & polymer emulsions

Paraffine-based surface conditioner chemistry for the leather/hide and textile industries
Paraffinic materials for the cosmetics industry

To do our work, we benefit from the following technology:

GC/MS (identifies carbon dispersion in wax products)
FT/IR (for developing new products and for analysing their molecular structure)
DSC (identifies phase changes against the temperature of materials containing a wax/polymeric structure)
PSA (measures the particle sizes of liquid-liquid and solid-liquid materials)
Rheometer (for measuring the viscosity of raw materials and other products against such variables as temperature and pressure)
Viscometer (measures the kinematicity and dynamicity of viscosity resistance)
UV spectrophotometer (identifies aromatic components in various materials)
NMR/23 Mhz (measures fast moisture and oil)
Ultrasonic homogenizer
High pressure homogenizer
Moisture tester
