Paraffin on of many by-products that comes from the refinement of crude oil. Special techniques are then used to purify it, give it just the right oil ratio, and improve its freezing point, colour, and smell, thereby readying for use. Paraffin generally freezes between 45°C and 72°C, and has an oil ratio of between 1 and 35% depending on the product in question and its crystal structure. Mercan Kimya is proudly behind this.

Paraffin is widely used in candles, lumber products, paper products, construction, agriculture, coating, physical therapy, medicine, and cosmetics. It is a natural water proofing agent and inert (due to its own chemical makeup), and therefore is frequently featured in products that require protection from moisture. It also has a low sense of thermal conductivity, and therefore behaves like an insulation material as well as a coating material in physiotherapy and cosmetics.

Paraffin emulsions are made by homogeneously mixing together paraffin’s special emulsifying agent and various additives (of the target sector) that are suitable for use with water. They can be either anionic, nonionic, or cationic.

Paraffin emulsions are widely used in the concrete, plaster, fiberglass/rock wool, paper, and lumber industry. They are ease of use, liquid at room temperature, slippery, water resistant, and inflammable.

We produce emulsions for all of the above industries and more (anionic, nonionic, or cationic; main ingredient 20 to 60%) using the most advanced technology out there.

We moreover are are the first and only stable emulsion producer of emulsions that containing 60% active agent – the fruit of a collaboration between us and TUBITAK, and ideal for the lumber industry.

Mercan Kimya Quality in Vaseline

Made from various waxes with different qualities, Vaseline is only presented to the customer after improvements have been made to its colour, fragrance, and softness.

Vaseline is slippery and soft, and is made with the customer’s industry and climate conditions in mind. It can have a penetration level of between 100 and 160 mm/5 sc., and freezes between 50 – 60 °C.

Mercan Kimya makes Vaseline for the cosmetics and machinery industries as well as for medicinal use.
