About Polyethylene Wax

Polyethylene Wax (PE Wax) is essentially a low-molecular-weight polyethylene polymer. It is a synthetic wax produced via the polymerization of petroleum-derived ethylene monomers. Widely utilized as an indispensable additive in industrial formulations, the primary function of PE Wax is to serve as a high-performance external/internal lubricant and dispersing agent.

Properties and Functions

PropertyDescriptionFunction
Lubricity (Lubrication)Reduces friction between the polymer melt and processing equipment metal surfaces.Enhances production output, lowers energy consumption, and promotes easy mold release.
Dispersing AbilityFacilitates homogeneous dispersion of pigments and fillers in masterbatches, coatings, and inks.Improves color consistency, prevents agglomeration, and elevates finished product quality.
High Melting PointRetains structural integrity even at elevated temperatures; chemically inert.Ensures thermal stability and operational reliability during high-temperature processing.
Hardness and GlossIncreases surface hardness, scratch resistance, and abrasion resistance of finished articles.Provides aesthetic appeal, gloss, and long-term durability.
Chemical ResistanceExhibits strong resistance to moisture, water, and various chemical agents.Acts as an effective protective coating barrier.

Applications & Fields of Use

 Plastics and Rubber Industry

Used as an external lubricant, mold release agent, and dispersant in PVC, PE, and PP compounding. It boosts manufacturing throughput and reduces power consumption.

 Paints, Coatings, and Inks

Ensures uniform, stable dispersion of pigments and functional fillers in color masterbatches, industrial paints, and printing inks while preventing agglomeration.

 Hot Melt Adhesives

Plays a vital role in Hot Melt Adhesive (HMA) systems by regulating open time, controlling viscosity, and providing high thermal stability.

 Candle and Paraffin Production

Utilized in candle and specialty wax formulations to elevate melting point, increase surface hardness, improve gloss, and deliver structural integrity.
